# High Ping

Experiencing excessive ping? This is client-sided the majority of the time - we're hosted in a premium Datacenter, in a central location, with global peering to major ISPs, so everyone can achieve a decent playable ping, regardless of your location.

### How can I fix it?

1. Ensure your own connection is stable. If you're using WiFi, ensure you're within a good range to your access point & switch to a wired connection if possible.
2. Try lowering your Render Distance. This will reduce the amount of data that needs to be sent to your client & will therefore result in lower ping on especially poor connections.
3. Check your bandwidth utilisation. If you've got Steam updating a game, or another device on your network, potentially a family members, maxing out your line, this will increase your ping drastically.
4. If it's a routing issue, try a VPN (or [Cloudflare's WARP](https://one.one.one.one/) as a free alternative). This will route your traffic through their servers, and will generally achieve better routing. This may cause a minor increase to your normal ping, but will resolve any major ping issues.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://guide.chillzone.cc/support/high-ping.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
